IN VITRO FERTILISATION (IVF)

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child. During IVF , mature eggs are collected (retrieved) from ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab.

INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is an in vitro fertilization procedure in which a single sperm cell is injected directly into the cytoplasm of an egg. This technique is used in order to prepare the gametes for the obtention of embryos that may be transferred to a maternal uterus.

PERCUTANEOUS EPIDIDYMAL SPERM INJECTION (PESA)

Percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) is a technique used to determine sperm counts in the event of a possible blockage of the vas deferens.

TESTICULAR SPERM ASPIRATION (TESA)

TESA is a procedure performed for men who are having sperm retrieved for IVF/ICSI. It is done with local anesthesia in the operating room or office and is coordinated with their female partner's egg retrieval. A needle is inserted in the testicle and tissue/sperm is aspirated.

SEMEN CRYOPRESERVATION

Semen cryopreservation is a procedure to preserve sperm cells. Semen can be used successfully indefinitely after cryopreservation. For human sperm, the longest reported successful storage is 24 years.

EMBRYO CRYOPRESERVATION

Cryopreservation of embryos is the process of preserving an embryo at sub-zero temperatures, generally at an embryogenesis stage corresponding to pre-implantation, that is, from fertilization to the blastocyst stage.

FROZEN EMBRYO TRANSFER(FET)

A frozen embryo transfer (FET) is a cycle in which the frozen embryos from a previous fresh IVF or donor egg cycle are thawed and then transferred back into the woman's uterus.

SONOSALPINGOGRAPHY (SSG)

Sonosalpingography (SSG), also known as the Sion test, is a diagnostic procedure primarily used for evaluating patency of fallopian tubes.

FOLLICULAR MONITORING

Follicular Monitoring is the process of serial ultrasonic monitoring of the ovarian follicles used to identify the maturation status of eggs. It is useful for assessing the size of the follicle that supports the growing egg and for determining the thickness of the uterine lining.

INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION(IUI)

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman's uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization.

SEMINOGRAM

Seminogram evaluates certain characteristics of a male's semen and the sperm contained therein. It is done to help evaluate male fertility, whether for those seeking pregnancy or verifying the success of vasectomy.

3D/4D ULTRASONOGRAPHY

Like regular ultrasounds, 3D and 4D ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image of your baby in your womb. What's different is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional image of your baby, while 4D ultrasounds create a live video effect, like a movie -- you can watch your baby smile or yawn.

DONOR PROGRAMME (IVF, IUI)

A donor's sperm can be used with IVF or IUI. You will receive fertility medications to prepare your eggs for retrieval. Once retrieved, your eggs will be combined with the donor sperm and any resulting embryos will then be transferred back to your uterus for implantation.

HYSTEROSCOPY & LAPAROSCOPY

Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. A gynecological laparoscopy is a procedure that allows a surgeon to look inside your pelvis, for example at your fallopian tubes, ovaries, and uterus (womb). It can be used either to diagnose a condition or for treatment. Laparoscopy is almost always performed under general anesthesia.
